I was first licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 1993. Over the years I have explored many approaches to doing therapy and while I used to call myself a cognitive therapist, I now clearly follow an integrative approach to interacting with people in therapy sessions. I almost always start out using a solution-focused approach in therapy which I like because it is client-centered and allows me to know right away what you are seeking in therapy. Since every person is unique, I have a lot of flexibility in using strategies that work for you as an individual.
