What I have noticed, after three decades of sitting with people in their most honest moments, is that the men and women who reach out to me are usually the ones others lean on. You are competent. You hold a lot. From the outside, your life looks like it is working. From the inside, there is the 3 a.m. mind chatter, the low-grade sadness with no obvious cause, the tightness in a relationship you cannot quite name out loud. With a doctorate in psychology, dual licenses (LMFT and LPCC), 25 years in practice, and 18 years teaching at Pepperdine, I work with the version of tired that rest does not fix.
