Many times what's affecting us in the present moment can be from the past, such as cultural expectations, being a child of immigrants, family dynamics or early childhood/teenager experiences. We don't realize it, but we're carrying a lot of emotions, survival and coping mechanisms that leave us feeling heavy, drained and even lost. A lot of this can show up as people pleasing, perfectionism, overachieving, anxiety and depression which affects relationships with those who matter to you.
