As a mental health clinican with over forty years of life experience, I believe that perception affects an individual's performance. I find that if a person believes they can do something well, they will do it well and vice versa. I am especially interested in this observable fact and how an individual's perception and cognitive process affects their behavior. Interestingly enough most people normalize behaviors, behaving according to how their community, family, friends or worst yet life long patterns of maladaptive behaviors; equipping my clients with a diverse set of tools to handle life stressors is essential for optimum living.
