Are you the eldest child who grew up with emotionally immature/unavailable parent(s)? Maybe for the majority of your life you took on responsibilities that were not yours, and you were known as the strong, and mature one since the adult(s) in your life had a hard time managing their feelings. This experience can be lonely, and persistent self-doubt and anxiety may continue to make putting your needs first an ongoing challenge in your personal, and or professional life. You may even struggle with persistent resentment, and guilt. Please know that being strong wasn't wrong, it was smart. Still, survival isn’t the same as healing.
