Growing up as a queer teen in a world that felt rigidly defined by heteronormative expectations, I often felt like an outsider. I tried to fit into spaces that weren’t ready to embrace difference—places that struggled to hold the unique, the unconventional, the untraditional. At times, I felt angry, misunderstood, scared, and profoundly alone. Even my first experience with therapy left me feeling disconnected—it was cold, clinical, and impersonal.
